Introducing Aina Abiodun, VertueLab's New President & Executive Director
From Heather Andersen, VertueLab Board Chair
On behalf of the VertueLab Board of Directors, it is my great pleasure to introduce Aina Abiodun, VertueLab's new President and Executive Director. When we kicked off the search process last fall, we pursued an equitable process through our partners at Good Citizen, to find a candidate who could lead at the intersection of climate, technology, entrepreneurship, and impact investing. A person that represented our values of bold leadership, experimentation, and could also bring their own unique lens and voice to diversity, equity, inclusion and community impact.
We were thrilled to meet Aina, to learn about her global leadership experience, her experience as an entrepreneur, as a climate consultant, and as a leader in social impact. Further, her experiences in brand strategy and storytelling bring a remarkable addition to achieving our mission, and for the urgent action and bold voice needed to quickly address the climate challenge.
As a climate tech founder herself, Aina brings experiences spanning executive leadership, brand strategy, innovation, fundraising, finance, partnerships, start-up mentorship, social strategy, community impact, and a heart full of commitment and leadership of equity & justice in the climate space. With a Masters in Fine Arts from UCLA's Film School, Aina also brings unique talent in storytelling, especially with regards to underrepresented voices and social impact. She was notably the first Black woman to run a venture-backed tech company in Germany. Many of her thought leadership pieces have been featured across various channels including PBS, Forbes, Tech Open Air, The Guggenheim Museum, California Institute of The Arts, and SXSW, to name a few.
We look forward to introducing Aina personally to everyone across the VertueLab family of supporters, entrepreneurs, investors, donors, and partners.
With gratitude and excitement,
Heather Andersen
